Our Story

Built on the belief that
good food takes time.

Glaze & Grind started with a simple idea: make food the way it used to be made — by hand, with attention, and without cutting corners. We bake our breads from sourdough starters we tend ourselves. We glaze our pastries the morning of service. We roast and grind our coffee so it hits the cup at its peak.

Located on State Route 96A in Romulus, we've become a quiet fixture in a town that values honesty over flash. If you walk in and the display is light, it's because we sold out — and we'd rather say that than pretend otherwise.

What We Make

From the oven and the bean.

Everything on our menu is made in-house. What's on display depends on what's fresh that morning — and it changes with the seasons.

Pastries & Glazes

Croissants, danishes, tartlets, and seasonal fruit galettes — each glazed or finished by hand the same morning it's served.

Artisan Breads

Sourdough, country loaves, and specialty grains — baked from starter, scored, and fired daily. No preservatives, no shortcuts.

Ground & Brewed Coffee

Single-origin and house blend beans, ground to order. Espresso, pour-over, or a simple black cup — whatever you need.

Curated pantry staples and groceries on open shelving

Pantry & Groceries

Selected staples — local honey, small-batch jams, specialty flours, and kitchen essentials — chosen the way we'd choose them for ourselves.

The Craft

We don't measure success
by volume.

Some mornings we sell out by noon. That's not a problem — it's a promise kept. We'd rather have too little than something that isn't good enough to put in front of a regular.

  • Sourdough starters maintained in-house
  • Coffee beans ground to order, every cup
  • Seasonal menu that shifts with local harvests
  • Locally sourced ingredients where possible
